商品簡介
This is the second in a series of final reports of the Kavousi Project, and the first volume on the cleaning (1982-84) and excavations (1897-1992) at the sites located above the modern village of Kavousi in eastern Crete. The Project is a multi-disciplinary regional study of the area with a focus on the Early Iron Age mountain sites. Its first phase, beginning in 1978, examined and analyzed surviving artifacts and architecture found by earlier investigators. These efforts indicated that further study could shed light on the entire Dark Age, providing informations about the history, chronology, and society of the region. So a five-year program of excavation was initiated in 1987. Vronda turned out to be predominantly a one-period site, so the buildings and objects from LM IIIC were intensely sought. The arrangement is by building designations A-R. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co. Annotation c2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
