商品簡介
What do we get out of discussion? When does discussion work? What can we do to improve discussion? In this work, academics and professionals in education, information management, and communication studies focus mainly on discussion on the Internet, but also consider issues related to discussion in person. The cases observe online discussion in a variety of public and private settings, including education, the workplace, support groups, politics, and social networking. After reading the case studies, readers will have a better idea of how to foster collaboration and critical thinking in online discussion. Some specific case subjects are teaching with Second Life, online discussion in engineering education, online interactions of a team of test developers working in a wiki environment, and online discussions in a lung cancer support group.
