Winter taught painting and drawing at Southern Methodist U. from 1963 to 1989; a practicing artist, he has had five solo shows at the Fischbach Gallery in New York and shown at galleries and museums throughout the U.S. He offers a concise introduction to drawing, suitable for both students and general readers, based on his years of classroom teaching and professional experience. The text has been substantially rewritten with much information added, subtracted, and rearranged into eight chapters reflecting various views of drawing and its many manifestations today. The text concludes with a chapter on the process of learning to draw including the impact of technology on art education, and an appendix containing suggested exercises. 作者簡介
Roger Winter taught painting and drawing at Southern Methodist University from 1963 to 1989. His past students include nationally recognized artists John Alexander, David Bates, Stephen Mueller, and Robert Yarber. His work has been represented by the Fischbach Gallery in New York City and has been shown at galleries throughout the U.S. as well as being contained in many notable collections. In 2007, Winter received the Legends Award from the Dallas Contemporary Museum of Art which exhibited his works from the past 40 years.
