Virtual Laboratories for Physical Anthropology, Version 4.0

The new edition of this full color, interactive product provides students with a hands-on computer component for completing lab assignments at school or at home. Through the use of video clips, 3-D animations, sound, and digital images, students can actively participate in 12 labs as part of their physical anthropology course. The labs and assignments teach students how to formulate and test hypotheses with exercises that include how to measure, plot, interpret, and evaluate a variety of data drawn from osteological, behavioral, and fossil materials. VIRTUAL LABORATORIES 4.0 is now available on Wadsworth's web-based iLrn platform, which includes a course management system that tracks assignments and includes immediate grading to help save instructor's time. In addition, this product continues to offer the traditional CD-ROM format in which students can email or print out their quizzes and tests and submit them for grading. VIRTUAL LABORATORIES can function as the sole laboratory component in the course, or it can be used to supplement more traditional hands-on teaching by providing a wider range of materials than available in the typical college laboratory.
