商品簡介
Rather than a homogenous, right-wing, Anglo-Saxon ideology, the eugenics movement has been studied in recent years in a broader way--as multifaceted, variable, and international; it differed from country to country, and evolved over time. Based on previously unexplored archival documentation, this study traces Italian eugenics from the beginning of the 1900s, through the fascist regime, to the first half of the 1970s--the final chapter dealing with UNESCO, and with American scientific racism. Cassata is an Italian scholar who has published extensively on the ideology of Italian fascism, neo-fascism, and the history of fascist racism. This book is an extended version in English of the original Italian edition (Bollati Boringhieri Editore, Torino). Distribution in the US is by Books International.
