This study combines anthropological and critical legal approaches to explore the conceptions of knowledge, expertise and learning of a network of Nordic human rights experts. It explores how the ideals of emancipation are realized in human rights action.

Miia Halme-Tuomisaari, PhD., social anthropology (2008), LLM, public international law (2003), University of Helsinki, is a Post-Doctorate Scholar at the Erik Castren Institute of International Law and Human Rights. Her ongoing research project examines human rights expertise.
