Mujcinovic (English and comparative literature, Westminster College, Utah) analyzes several contemporary novels, short stories, and autobiographical pieces as narratives that place self-definition in the spaces of biculturalism and geopolitics in order to suggest new forms of emancipated subjectivities that are politicized and invested in strategic and coalitional positioning. The multiple subjectivity she finds presented in US Latina literature is defined in the context of patriarchy, nationalism, racism, capitalism, and state authoritarianism.
