作者簡介
PATRICIA THOMAS is the author of several picture books, including “STAND BACK,” SAID THE ELEPHANT, “I’M GOING TO SNEEZE!”; “THERE ARE ROCKS IN MY SOCKS,” SAID THE OX TO THE FOX; and THE ONE-AND-ONLY, SUPER-DUPER, GOLLY-WHOPPPER, JIM-DANDY, REALLY HANDY CLOCK TOCK STOPPER.Growing up on a farm in western Pennsylvania, Patricia jumped in haymows, picked dew-wet strawberries, rode on a manure spreader behind a team of horses, and wrote poetry. By the age of eight, one of her poems was published in Jack And Jill. After having one of her children’s books published and working in advertising for several years, Patricia and her husband moved to Maine, where they opened a lodge. Five years later, she returned to Pennsylvania and to writing.Currently, Patricia teaches writing for children at Marywood University and at the Institute for Children’s Literature. One piece of advice she often gives to her students is that as a writer you cannot afford to be disinterested in anything because you will never know when you will make use of something you have learned. Patricia actually experienced a firefly mountain as an adult in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which was the inspiration for her most recent book FIREFLY MOUNTAIN.
