商品簡介
Pirie (anthropology, Oxford U.) investigates how the Ladakhi people in the Himalayan region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir maintain their social order in the midst of economic development, technological change, and political conflict all around them. Drawing from interviews with people throughout the region, but particularly in one of the remoter villages and in the urban center of Leh, she describes how they are far from isolated, but manage conflict and pursue peace by constructing fragile webs of order within their communities.
