Born January 27, 1975, Simmons is an ambitious, self-driven, entrepreneur. Since grade school, he excelled as a scholar and maintained a steady position at the top of his class. Placed in E.L.P "The Gifted Program" in middle school, Simmons smoothly coasted through high school, later graduating at the top of his class. After high school Simmons immediately enrolled in technical school and later explored different careers. It was after working several different jobs that Simmons decided that punching a time clock wasn't for him and concluded that becoming an entrepreneur was his destiny. Over the years Simmons secured his finances and by age 22 had indulged his entrepreneurial spirit by owning a clothing store, an elegant hair salon, and a record label. In 2001 Simmons was indicted on charges of drug conspiracy and later sentenced to 151 months in a Federal Correctional Facility. That didn't stop Simmons. His ambition to succeed and go-getter mentality kept him buried in numerous books: studying real estate, finance, business management, and marketing.Ironically, Simmons desire to write came while locked down on 23 hour confinement. With nothing but time on his hand, Simmons became a bookworm, reading novel after novel. Blessed with a vivid imagination, charisma, and a P.H.D. in the streets, it was then that Simmons decided to join the new wave of urban literature and immediately began penning his first novel. Determined to make the best out of a bad situation, Simmons released “Ghetto Resume part 1 in May 2008 from prison.With no ending in sight, Simmons possesses the type of ambition that will continue to withstand any resistance. Determined to end the year with a bang, Simmons will be releasing his sophomore novel, Ghetto Resume part II in December. Simmons creativity will not stop with urban literature; he plans on delving into other genres as well, with a romance novel scheduled to be released in 2011. Ultimately, Simmons's goal is to see "Ghetto Resume" make it to the big screen.
