商品簡介
Jones (history and classics, Baylor U.) has substantially revised and amplified his May 2006 PhD dissertation in ancient history and Mediterranean archaeology at the University of California-Berkeley, particularly adding chapters on three more texts. Unlike most conquered people who were enculturated into the Roman empire, he says, the Jews left abundant national literature from the period. He examines seven texts of the Pseudepigrapha that reflect on the destruction of Jerusalem by Roman legions in AD 70, and takes the well known account by Josephus as an eighth perspective.
