商品簡介
Written as a doctoral thesis at the World Trade Institute of the U. of Bern, Switzerland, this volume assesses the effective overlap between international trade law and international investment law in the area of foreign investment in services, as well as potential conflicts between them. The author compares principles and rules in in such investment agreements as bilateral investment treaties and the investment chapters of preferential trade agreements with the multilateral rules of the General Agreement on Trade and Services. He also examines how trade law and investment law are enforced in their respective dispute settlement systems, with particular reference to how the foreign investor resorts to the dispute settlement mechanisms. Kluwer Law International is now Wolters Kluwer Law & Business. Annotation c2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
