商品簡介
McGinnis, a former teacher, special education consultant, and professor of special education, explains a four-part training approach called Skillstreaming that uses modeling, role-playing, performance feedback, and generalization to teach 60 prosocial skills to elementary students who display aggression, immaturity, withdrawal, or other problem behaviors. She includes skills for classroom survival, friendship-making, dealing with feelings and stress, and alternatives to physical and verbal aggression. The approach views students as individuals needing training and actively teaches positive behaviors to replace those that are less productive, rather than providing therapy or compliance. Included are chapters on program content and implementation, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, managing behavior problems, building positive relationships with parents, and violence prevention, followed by outlines and homework reports for each skill, also on the CD.
