商品簡介
The Ernst Freiberger Foundation supported this book, which consists of 36 contributions beginning with various perspectives on the retreat from the male breadwinner family in industrial societies, and challenges for development of attachments and care. Following are sections devoted to the "view" from Europe, Japan, China, Africa, and the Middle East--with coverage of such topics as economic perspectives on the demographic situation in Europe, a cross-cultural study of intergenerational relations, Japanese elder care, low fertility in China, transformation of the family economy in Africa, and transformation of sexual morality within the Sunni world. The concluding chapter summarizes perspectives for a future-oriented family policy. The two editors are sociologists affiliated with Humboldt U. Berlin; contributors represent a range of social sciences disciplines and are affiliated internationally. Distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation c2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
