商品簡介
In an effort to fill a gap in the literature, which is largely reliant on British, French, and other European sources, this monograph investigates Ottoman involvement in the Crimean War of 1853-1856, primarily through Ottoman (and some Russian) primary sources, focusing on the Ottoman state and society. The author constructs a narrative of the war as experienced by the Ottomans and considers the political, economic, social, and intellectual impacts of the war on the Ottoman state and society.
