Dr. Azlan Tajuddin is Associate Professor and Chair of the Sociology Department at La Roche College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A graduate of political science and international relations from the University of Minnesota, he went on to obtain a doctorate in sociology from the University of Tennessee. Prior to his involvement in the collegiate world, Dr. Tajuddin had worked in various lower and middle management positions in both business and government. His experiences in organization took him to numerous places around the world, and introduced him to the different peoples and cultures in the various countries visited. As an academician, Dr. Tajuddin is trained as a political economist, and has presented and published several works in the area of ethnic relations, educational sociology, and even management. As an instructor, he considers himself a general sociologist, and currently teaches a variety of courses within the discipline including the environment, sports, religion, politics, cities, social movements, globalization, and anthropology.
