商品簡介
In this study of students' experiences of education in prison, Hughes (California State University-Fresno) highlights students' voices, drawing on in-depth interviews with 47 British prisoners engaged in distance learning. The study examines students' educational backgrounds and personal histories and explores the motivations and disincentives for education in prison. Student prisoners reveal their experiences in areas such as coping with prison, changes in self-perception, and the potential impact of their studies on their lives after prison. The book includes an account of two students' experiences after release from prison. A conclusion summarizes findings and gives recommendations.
