商品簡介
Renzi (Buffalo State College, New York) offers what may seem to be a strange and mismatched comparison of two seemingly disparate film genres: screwball comedy and film noir. The author, in preparing to teach courses on both genres, notes in his preface that he was surprised to find many similarities between the two. His book concentrates on the classical periods of film noir and screwball comedy, roughly 1930 to 1960. He examines the historical contexts in which they came about, provides a justification for the two forms as distinct genres, and compares the filmmaking techniques and other elements that so closely connect them.
