商品簡介
Korpel (Old Testament, Utrecht U.) and Moor (emeritus, Semitic languages, Theological U. Kempen, Netherlands) survey articulations of the notion of a silent god, from recent testimonies to the earliest known texts concerning it. They cover the silent god in modernity, prerequisites for a fresh investigation, silence between humans in antiquity, how man addressed the deity, and how the deity addressed man. More detailed topics include the silent god in agnosticism and atheism, the biblical roots, reasons for silence between humans, letters to deities, visions and oracles, broken communication between God and man, and God's word in human guise.
