商品簡介
Editors Antonelli and McCullough present an anthology about best practices for environmental sustainability in the library field. Most contributors are working librarians and represent a range of general and specialist academic and community libraries in the United States (a few sustainability design specialists are represented). Most contributions describe specific sustainability challenges and solutions discovered at work. Some offer resources, others give how-to accounts. The text is divided into three general sections: green buildings, green committees, services, and programs, and green resources and reflections. The focus is practical, with some theoretical questions or concerns growing from practical experiences. The collection's primary strength is in its wealth of practical information based on experience. Its primary limitation is that it represents situations where a library has a significant institutional or urban setting and a professional operating budget. The collection will be of interest to librarians and staff in civil service and community government, and to anyone with an interest in urban sustainability within organizations.
