This 4-volume reference consists of a 2-volume almanac, a volume of biographies, and a volume of primary sources, as well as a 34-page free-standing index. The almanac contains 11 chapters describing different types of prejudice and 11 more chapters describing specific examples. Among the latter are the genocide in Rwanda, the Japanese internment in the US, the religious groups of Iraq, and prejudice against Hispanic-Americans. Excerpts from 16 articles or books, divided by topic, comprise the primary sources. The topics are prejudice on a racial, gender, religious, ethnic, and societal basis, as well as genocide and ethnic strife during WWII. Both those infamous for having codified prejudice and famous for policies or philosophies of tolerance were selected for the biographies. The resource is written for middle and high school students.
