Connected provides summary of current research on computer-mediated-communication in reader-friendly terms; real-life insight, stories, and advice from middle school, high school, and college-aged students who use IM and MySpace on a regular basis, including how they think parents should respond; advice and insight from Christian parents who have dealt with teens who use online communications; a summary of parenting advice from leading scholars and authors and practical parenting tips and discussion starters.

Peggy Kendall is Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Bethel University. She holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, an M.A. in Secondary Education, and a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota. Her experiences as a youth volunteer, former school teacher and parent of two teenage children have taught her a great deal about today’s communication technology.
