Perspectives on Scholarly Misconduct in the Sciences

Contributors from several scientific disciplines, ethics, education, and administration address the question of who is responsible for detecting, deterring, and sanctioning the sort of research misconduct increasingly brought to the attention of the academic community and the general public over the past two decades. They look at self-regulation, responses of universities and government, the lay public, associations, and other dimensions. They also identify university-industry collaboration as a potential source of wrongdoing, and consider legal issues.
