Harley Jessup began his career in film as visual effects art director for Industrial Light and Magic, where he received an Academy Award for his work onInnerspace, and a nomination for Steven Spielberg's Hook. In 1994, Harley served as production designer for the Disney filmJames and the Giant Peach. He joined Pixar in 1996, where he worked on award-winning filmsA Bug's Life and Toy Story 2. After that, he was heavily involved withMonsters, Inc. from its inception. For his work on Ratatouille, Harley was honored with the ANNIE for Production Design in an Animated Feature Production. After that, he was on the production design team forPresto, and art director for Up. In addition to his work on films, Harley has written and illustrated two children's books:What's Alice Up To? and Grandma Summer, both published by Viking. He also illustrated the books,Just Enough and Flower Girl.
