The book is about the everyday experiences of grassroots extremists - particularly activists in the English Defence League (EDL). Based on a detailed ethnography and in-depth biographic narrative interviews, the book explores how and why activists have become and remained engaged with the EDL, and how participation in the EDL has impacted on their lives.
