商品簡介
Labbe explores the long process of adaptation and hybridization underpinning the Hoa Muc district's shift from rural village to "village in the city." In addition to describing demographic, economic, and build-form changes over time, she identifies the origins and transformation of the practices and rules that structured particular territorial orders on the outskirts of the Vietnamese capital from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. She looks at who participates in producing and reproducing socio-spatial arrangements on the peri-urban edge, the means they use, and the degree of control or power they have over resources and institutions that shape the urbanization process.
