Now Jim Hoey, author of "Minnesota Twins Trivia" and "Puck Heaven," has compiled a remarkable selection of facts and information about our revered NFL franchise. Jim Hoey was born and raised in Taconite, Minnesota, and graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine and St. Mary's University in Winona. He spent 34 years as a secondary social studies teacher and was a hockey and softball coach at both Shakopee and Farmington High Schools. His passion for Vikings football began in 1961, when, as a nine-year old, he watched the fledgling new franchise on a grainy black and white Setchell-Carlson television. Over the years, he has missed very few of the team's 836 games (counting playoffs) and has fond memories of most of the 1,016 players who have played for the team over its 52-year history. Hoey's zeal for the Vikings shines through in this book's vast array of remarkable feats and curious, little-known facts, statistics, records and awards. Hoey's first book, "Minnesota Twins Trivia," was published in 2010 and his second book, "Puck Heaven," a book on the Minnesota State Boys Hockey Tournament, appeared in 2011. Hoey is presently the Athletic Director at Trinity School at River Ridge in Eagan, where he lives with his wife Ann and son Eddie. Like most Viking die-hards, he is determined to live long enough to witness the team win that elusive Super Bowl title.
