The author, who has long been preoccupied with general and literary semantics and text studies, examines tropology in this study, encompassing poetics, stylistics, and discourse analysis. Material is arranged in chapters on microtropes, macrotropes, and mega- and metatropes of artistic language and conceptualization; the Vichian tropological tetrad and its contemporary variants; the tetrad in other fields of study (Freud and dreams, Lacan and the unconscious, and Levi-Strauss and the "savage" mind); and master topes extended (e.g. simile, antithesis, catachresis, euphemia); and tropological space and figurative worlds. 作者簡介
Elzbieta Chrzanowska-Kluczewska is a professor of linguistics in the Institute of English Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Her research fields are general and literary semantics, linguistic stylistics and philosophy of language. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Literary Semantics.
