The Harmony of the Sphere ― Kant and Herschel on the Universe and the Astronomical Phenomena

Silvia De Bianchi is Fritz Thyssen Research Fellow at the Technische Universitat Dortmund and Honorary Research Associate in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at University College London. She is currently working on the project Kant's transcendental philosophy in light of astronomical riddles and paradoxes: a reassessment. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy from Sapienza University of Rome in 2010. Her research interests in early modern history and philosophy focus on Kant's transcendental philosophy and its legacy for the history of science. She recently published, with Michela Massimi, Cartesian echoes in Kant's philosophy of Nature (2012).
