Jessica Berman is Professor of English and Director of the Dresher Center for the Humanities at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA. She is the author ofModernist Commitments: Ethics, Politics and Transnational Modernism (2011) andModernist Fiction, Cosmopolitanism and the Politics of Community (2001), and co-editor ofVirginia Woolf Out of Bounds: Selected Papers from the 10^th Annual Conference on Virginia Woolf (2001). She is also co-editor of theModernist Latitudes book series and second vice-president of the Modernist Studies Association, to succeed to vice-president (2015-16) and president (2016-17) .
