Leadership Development for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice provides historical and current perspectives on leadership in healthcare. Through international examples of how leadership of interprofessional education and practice has developed in various countries, the book builds on the research conducted by the World Health Organisation (2010) and examines how it can make a difference to the care of the patient, client and community. The editors showcase a variety of contexts in which interprofessional education and practice is now taking place and provide guidance for leaders to establish and maintain an environment where everyone involved in the team can 'learn with, from and about each other to improve collaboration and the quality of care'.

Professor Dawn Forman has recently returned to the UK from Perth Australia where she was working as Clinical Director and Professor at Curtin University in Perth. Dawn resumes her international consultancy from her base in Sheffield, England.

Professor Marion Jones is a nurse, academic, Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Associate Director of the National Centre for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice. She educated in New Zealand and has been involved in health professional education for over 30 years. She is involved in the Perioperative College of New Zealand Nurses Association (NZNO) along with supervising students at Masters and Doctoral level.

Professor Jill Thistlethwaite is a general practitioner and academic. She trained in the UK and has been involved in health professional education for over 20 years. She is the author/co-author of five books, co-editor of two and have written over 80 peer-reviewed papers. Jill is Deputy Editor of the Clinical Teacher, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Interprofessional Care and the International Journal of Practice-Based Learning.
