For 35 years, Jacquelyn Rhine Marshall, BA, CLS, MA, has been a medical professional; a medical careers instructor for Regional Occupational Programs, California; a medical writer; and a consultant/writer for the Center for Occupational Research and Development in Austin, Texas. Ms. Marshall has authored several textbooks and written medical course curriculum for the state of California. She has also developed several instructor guides and has edited or contributed to three medical series. Ms. Marshall holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley; California State University, Hayward; and Notre Dame de Namur University.
Kay Lynette Stevens, Contributing Editor, BA, MA, RN, is a professor and Department Chairperson of the Medical Assistant Program, and Insurance and Coding at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California. Prior to joining the faculty at Saddleback College, she worked at hospitals as a critical care nurse and clinical educator. She also worked as a Program Coordinator teaching a variety of allied health courses to high school students and adults. She was a Professional Development Consultant and a Health Careers Master Teacher Trainer for the California State University Consortium and California Polytechnic University for 10 years. She has authored a textbook and has been the creator/editor of several additional texts in the Health Sciences.
