Carver and Pantoja, both reading teachers, offer tutors and teachers at middle and high school levels fifteen weeks' worth of activities for teaching students with reading challenges to decode syllable patterns in English to connect text with pronunciation. The accompanying CDROM contains listening prompts for the lessons, which address different consonant-vowel patterns in English, pronunciation rules, suffixes, and alternate sounds for certain letters.
