Hassan (law, U. of Technology Sydney, Australia) describes international management principles and policies of land-based sources of marine pollution control and analyzes provisions of international and regional legal regimes, their strengths and weaknesses, and issues with implementation. Types of pollutants, their dangers, economic and political problems, and a case study of the Bay of Bengal region of South Asia are provided. The author then proposes a model of international and regional cooperation.
