E-learning and Education for Sustainability

Editors Azeiteiro, Filho, and Caeiro present readers with a collection of essays and academic articles focused on the use of e-learning as a progressive tool toward sustainable development. The selections that make up the main body of the text are organized in four parts devoted to principles, concepts, and competences; new ICT tools, materials, and teachers’ skills; a continental perspective for best practices; and formal and non-formal case studies and experiences. Walter Leal Filho is a faculty member of Haburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Sandra Sofia Caeiro and Ulisses Miranda Azeiteiro are independent scholars. Ulisses Miranda Azeiteiro studied at the University of Aveiro and holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Coimbra (both Portugal). He received his Aggregation in Biology at the Universidade Aberta (Portugal).
Walter Leal Filho is a trained biologist. He holds a PhD and a D.Sc. in environmental technology, plus honorary doctorates in environmental information. He is the Director of the Research and Transfer Centre Applications of Life Sciences at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany). He has authored, co-authored or edited over 70 books and has published over 200 papers on the subjects of environment, technology and innovation.
Sandra Sofia Caeiro holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal), a Master in Science of Coastal Zones from the University of Aveiro and a Doctorate on Environmental Engineering from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
