Ilza Veith (19122013) was Assistant Professor in History of Medicine at the University of Chicago from 1949 to 1963, and Professor of History of Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of California at San Francisco from 1964 to 1979.
Linda L. Barnes is Professor of Family Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) and in the Graduate Division of Religious Studies in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Boston University. She also directs the Master of Science Program in Medical Anthropology and Cross-Cultural Practice at BUSM. She is the author ofNeedles, Herbs, Gods, and Ghosts: China, Healing, and the West to 1848, and coeditor ofChinese Medicine and Healing: An Illustrated History.
