Alto Perene, a member of the Arawak language family, is spoken by about 1,000 people in 36 communities in the Upper Perene Valley of the Junin Region in Peru, says Mihas. After introducing the language and its speakers she discusses the sound system, word structure and word classes, the verb, the noun, word formation, main clause structure, special sentence types, complex constructions, and information structure.
