Homicide Detective Erica Barnes leads the investigation into the most brutal serial murders in Indianapolis history. Once the FBI is alerted she finds there are a string of similar murders in four other states from Wyoming to Indiana. They believe they know who he is, but fear he may have altered his appearance. The killer leaves pleas for attention at each crime scene, but it isn’t until he decides to plead to be stopped that he focuses his attention on Erica. Will she be able to stop him before he strikes again? Does he really want to be stopped or are his pleas just part of some sick game? As she learns more about the suspect and the horrors he once faced, she finds herself empathizing with him. But she cannot let her guard down.
