商品簡介
Carter (language learning, U. of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago) has taught French as a foreign language for 25 years. She presents findings from a 1997-1998 study conducted among first-year English-speaking undergraduates who were advanced learners of French. The research examines the students' conceptions about responsibility in language learning, the teacher's responsibilities, the nature of language learning and how their view of language learning is related to the role they are prepared to assume in learning; what it means to be an autonomous learner; and the students' interpretation of their role in language learning following an intervention to promote learner autonomy. The study contributes a Caribbean dimension to the literature on language learner autonomy. For researchers, teachers, teacher educators, and graduate students of applied linguistics and language education. Annotation c2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
