Private Sector Development and Urbanization in China ― Strategies for Widespread Growth

In the process of China's market-oriented reforms, the private sector is undoubtedly the driving force promoting regional development and urbanization, with urbanization being an important carrier and engine for regional economic and social development. The private sector in southeast China has been continuously and effectively promoting the urbanization, social and economic development, and growth and development of private sector in line with the principal of market economics.

Given the reality of China's inland economic development, Private Sector Development and Urbanization in China studies the development of the private sector and the process of regional urbanization in the Yangtze River Delta region to provide a path for new urbanization throughout China. Observing the spatial expansion of the region's economy from the perspective of private sector development, Wang discerns a path for widespread economic development throughout China.

Zhikai Wang is Professor of Economics at Zhejiang University, China. Wang had long worked for Jiangsu Provincial Government before he joined Zhejiang University in late 2002. He is a member of the expert commission of Tianhe Economic Research Institute in Beijing, China, and secretary general of the Centre for Research of Private Economy, China.
