Muhammad Ali Aziz holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has taught at Princeton University and the University of Michigan. He is currently the coordinator of the Arabic Program at Yale University where he has been teaching Arabic from 2005 until the present. He is the author of Religion and Mysticism in Early Islam: Theology and Sufism in Yemen.
