商品簡介
Painter presents a new translation of Faereyinga saga, one of the lesser known Icelandic sagas, written by an anonymous author sometime during the early 13th century. It traces the first settlers in the Faeroe Islands in the early ninth century, during the Viking Age, focusing on the feud between two rival chieftains, Sigmundur Brestirsson and Thrandur of Gota. His goal is to make the translation faithful enough that learners of Icelandic can use is as a reference, but fluid enough to be enjoyed by anyone interested in the people and the period.
