Brendan Stuart Burns is best known for his paintings over the last decade inspired by a small, isolated beach in west Wales. The paintings have won many accolades. They continue to evolve in style and content, stimulated by experience of constant changes in shoreline, tide, light, horizon and beach. At the beginning of his career, now twenty years ago, Burns's art was political - Wapping and Northern Ireland provided the backdrop - and he ranged across painting, collage, graphics and sculpture. Brendan Stuart Burns is both a popular and critically acclaimed artist. He has twice won the Gold Medal at the National Eisteddfod and was Welsh Artist of the Year in 2003 . He has exhibited widely in Wales, the UK and Europe and has works in public and private collections world-wide.
