Marilyn R. McFarland, PhD, RN, CTN-A, FNP-BC is a Professor in the Department of Nursing, School of Health Professions and Studies at the University of Michigan-Flint. As a Certified Transcultural Nurse and as a Transcultural Nursing Author and Scholar, Dr.McFarland has been nationally and internationally recognized for her contributions to transcultural nursing by the Transcultural Nursing Society, has co-authored two texts with Dr. Madeleine Leininger: Culture Care Diversity and Universality: A Worldwide Nursing Theory (2006) andTranscultural Nursing:Concepts, Theories, Research, & Practice (2002) and has co-authored the third edition ofLeininger’s Culture Care Diversity and Universality: A Worldwide Nursing Theory with Dr. Hiba Wehbe-Alamah.

Hiba B. Wehbe-Alamah, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, CTN-A is an Associate Professor, Department of Nursing,SchoolofHealthProfessionsandStudies at the University of Michigan-Flint. She was inducted as aTranscultural NursingScholar in 2011 by the Transcultural Nursing Society and is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2014 National American Arab Nurses’ Association Angel of Mercy Award; the 2015 University of Michigan-Flint Provost Innovative Teaching Prize; and the 2015 Transcultural Nursing Society Madeleine M. Leininger Award.
