商品簡介
Of all that happened to the Jews during the millennium from the formation of the Pentateuch to the end of the formative age, say Neusner (religion and theology, Bard College, New York), William Scott Green (religion and Judaic studies, U. of Rochester, New York), and Alan J. Avery-Peck (Judaic studies, College of the Holy Cross, Massachusetts), only a few events are responsible for the particular Judaism that emerged as normative. They identify those definitive events of danger and opportunity, and the focal points they highlighted. In addition to Judaism's account of itself, they consider Christian and pagan perspectives, and views of Greco-Roman philosophers. Annotation ©2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
