If it is hard to categorize because its messages and means of spreading said messages are too broad to fit into just one category…well, mission accomplished. If you love the hell out of this book so much that you suggest it to your black, white, yellow, purple and brown friends because you believe it’s good enough to discuss over a meal with people you know…well then damn it, mission accomplished. For ultimately, it is my belief that great fiction is supposed to stimulate conversation, controversy and conviction, while pose questions and even ignite change. It is supposed to stimulate thought that makes you want to talk about it with someone else. If I never make millions with my stories but I get all or the bulk of this list accomplished through my writing, then that makes it worth the battle of the journey to get to the finish line. I hope this story of friendship, reflection, acceptance, denial, sex, betrayal, truth and forgiveness inspires you to look back on your past as direction to your future. I hope after reading this story you will look at your mistakes for what they really are…Lessons that build wisdom.
