商品簡介
Active in the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, Saperstein (physics, Wayne State U.) develops the idea of chaos in a deterministic international system, and applies it to simple mathematical models of the interactions between competing states in such a system. Constructing an analogy between chaos and the notion of crisis instability, he uses the results of such model analysis in framing effective national security policies. He warns that such mathematical tricks might augment, but cannot replace paying attention to the real world. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
