JORY JOHN is an author, a journalist, and an educator living in Oregon. He is the creator and coauthor of the bestsellingAll My Friends Are Dead, which has sold more than 200,000 copies. For ten years, Jory worked as a seasonal counselor at a performing arts and circus camp, where he taught songwriting, guitar, juggling, and writing.

LANE SMITH has written and illustrated a number of novels and picture books for children, including two Caldecott Honor titles. He was a 2014 recipient of a Society of Illustrators Lifetime Achievement Award and was named an Honor Artist by the Eric Carle Museum. He lives with his wife, book designer Molly Leach, in rural Connecticut.
