The China Challenge ─ Standing Strong Against the Military, Economic and Political Threats That Imperil America

The People's Republic of China has emerged as a significant regional superpower and carved out a formidable sphere of influence using industrial might, economic leverage, and military intimidation. Experts suggest that China could resolve the North Korea problem with little fuss. Others predict China's economy will surpass the United States' during this century. With its large population and thriving economy, China's demand for oil will reduce the global supply. At best, China will be an economic challenge to the United States; at worst, a very real national security threat.
