This book fills the gap in knowledge and patient care by showing spine surgeons how to integrate pain management techniques into their practice. This book is the first book of its kind, in tune with current efforts of the major neurosurgical and neuromodulation societies (American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Neuromodulation Society, International Society of Neuromodulation) and leading makers of neuromodulation equipment (Medtronic, St. Jude) to educate spine surgeons on the management of their patients’ post-surgical pain. Designed as an all-in-one volume, the book explains how to identify candidates for pain treatment and when to refer them to specialists; present “how-to” clinical information on approaches to managing pain, from the medical to the interventional; and provide practical business guidance on coding, reimbursement, and so forth.

Dr. Falowski is a neurosurgeon at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Allentown, PA where he practices functional and general neurosurgery. He is an active member of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) where he serves as Scientific Program Chair, co-editor of the newsletter, director of the spinal course stimulator workshop, and abstract reviewer. He also serves as member of the joint Congress of Neurological Surgery / American Association of Neurological Surgery Coding & Reimbursement Committee.
